Liza Gallardo Walton, President of Kreps Social
Liza Gallardo Walton is the President of Kreps Social.
In 2010, she founded and operated Miami Social Marketing, a social media marketing company focused on helping organizations create authentic connections through relevant content and dialogue to engage a targeted audience through social media. Miami Social Marketing was acquired by Kreps PR in 2022.
Ms. Walton began her career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in the Change Management competency, where she built online training tools and taught end users how to effectively use new software systems. She then switched gears, and joined the Technology Practice at Burson-Marsteller, where she executed Public Relations campaigns for many Latin American “dot-coms.” Ms. Walton eventually landed at the City of Miami, where she served as a Public Information Officer. She was then promoted to NET Administrator, where she oversaw the coordination of city services and community relations at the neighborhood level. Social Media Marketing is the synthesis of her diverse skill set.
A Cuban American born in Mexico, Ms. Walton is a graduate of Ransom-Everglades School. She has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama, and a Bachelor of Arts in both Public Policy and Romance Languages from Washington and Lee University. Ms. Walton is also active in the Miami community, having served on the executive boards for PAMM Contemporaries, Friends of The New World Symphony, Miami Arts Marketing Project, Social Media Club of South Florida and Fashionably Conscious for Coconut Grove Cares.
When not working, you’ll find Liza hopping on a plane, trying out new recipes, and taking photos of her rescue dog, Kevin.
Jana Rose Carrero, Senior Social Media Manager
Jana Rose Carrero is a Senior Social Media Manager at Kreps Social.
Jana began her career as a Legal Videographer in her hometown of San Juan for Real Writers of Puerto Rico Inc., providing video services to law firms during and after legal proceedings. She then switched gears, and moved to New York City to pursue opportunities in the fashion industry. After working a few fast-paced years of fashion and hospitality, Jana landed in Miami and started her own fashion editorial project - Jana Rose – currently one of the city’s leading lifestyle, fashion and music blogs. Recognizing the immense value social media has in growing a brand and in engaging an authentic audience, Jana joined Kreps Social (formerly known as Miami Social Marketing) in 2013.
Jana graduated from University of Miami where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Communication with Majors in Motion Pictures & Latin American Studies. She also holds a certification in Fashion Styling from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology.
Jana loves all things creative, is passionate about animals, and adores her rescue Bengal-mix cat Lucy and her French Bulldog Florence aka Flo.
Alexandra Betancourt, Senior Social Media Manager
Alexandra Betancourt is a Senior Social Media Manager at Kreps Social.
Alexandra attended the University of Miami where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication, with a Major in Advertising and a Minor in Marketing. While attending the University of Miami, she interned in the marketing department of Fortune International Realty. After graduating in May 2017, Alexandra joined the Miami Social Marketing team. MSM was acquired by Kreps PR in 2022.
Born and raised in Miami, she was a dancer for 16 years, winning numerous national titles and even appeared on Paula Abdul's TV show "Live To Dance". She's a self diagnosed online shopping addict who loves her shihtzu Coco, named after Coco Chanel.
Isabel (Chavi) Ortega, Social Media Manager
Isabel (Chavi) Ortega is a Social Media Manager at Kreps Social.
Chavi was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She moved to Savannah in 2011 to pursue her degree in Advertising with a focus on Art Direction and a minor in Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art and Design. In 2017 she joined the Miami Social Marketing team. MSM was acquired by Kreps PR in 2022.
Chavi loves an active lifestyle and enjoys running the most. When she’s not at work, she can be found spending time with her family and friends.
Cynthia Varela, Social Media Manager
Cynthia Varela is a Social Media Manager at Kreps Social.
Cynthia attended Florida International University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications, with a Major in Public Relations and a Minor in Hospitality.
While attending Miami Dade College in 2016 for her Associates Degree in Music Business Management, she interned at Miami Social Marketing where she was asked to join the team part-time as a Social Media Coordinator, Cynthia officially joined MSM full-time after graduating FIU in July 2019. MSM was acquired by Kreps PR in 2022.
She loves concerts, traveling, trying new restaurants with friends, and baking tasty treats. (Cookies are her specialty!)
Kaitlyn Pernas, Social Media Manager
Kaitlyn Pernas is a Social Media Manager at Kreps Social.
Kaitlyn attended Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA where she obtained her BFA in Fashion Marketing and Management. While pursuing her degree, she interned for Miami Social Marketing. Following a year-long internship, she transitioned to a full-time role post graduation in May 2021. MSM was acquired by Kreps PR in 2022.
Currently residing in Savannah, she makes frequent trips back to her hometown of Miami. In her free time she loves reading, going to the beach, and hanging out with her cats, Cheetoh and Frito.
Keely Ellington, Intern
Keely is an intern at Kreps Social.
Keely is currently attending Savannah College of Art and Design. Set to graduate this spring, she is majoring in Fashion Marketing and Management. Keely began her internship with Miami Social Marketing in August of 2021. MSM was acquired by Kreps PR in 2022
Post grad she plans to return to her home town of Miami, FL. She has a love for traveling, the beach, and being with friends and family. Keely loves animals and has one of her own, a chihuahua-maltese named Milo!
